Obviously texting is more convenient, not only can you convey your message without the nuisance of actually having a real conversation but you can also alert many people at once if you so desire. Perfect for letting your friends know where to find the best party or where and when the pick-up basketball game is. However...

Breaking up with your girlfriend? Putting in your two weeks notice? Finally telling your step-mom that you do in fact "love her?" Press the call button, texting is impersonal. Unless you want to come across as a total jackass, make the effort to communicate verbally. If you lack the balls to have a person-to-person confrontation, at least talk to them on the phone. Breaking up with your "sweetie" over text messages is pathetic. God, I hope this isn't what our technological world is coming to.

i hate when people have conversations via text, but i do love texting when you dont want to have a conversation over the phone or when you cant talk on the phone like in class!!
