I see it like this it is good for an artist that is well established. by being able to connect with their fans, in a way taking it back to their roots (the way they started in the clubs, and small groups but at a larger scale). Plus they already have done so well. So its kind of like passing the saves on to the fans. Which is great.

But on the other side I don't think this will work for a new artist. Due to they are already doing this and they do not have that large of a fan base. So they would need the record industry to get their name out there. So they could make a living on their art.
