Just because it's a word that you use to mean stupid, doesn't mean that's what it actually means.
As for homosexuality being a "defect", people have thought that for thousands of years. It didn't stop people from doing it, and it's not exactly like a true homosexual would be passing on their genes. So how does this whole "biological" thing work? Children and adults are not "hardwired" for practically anything. It's a nature vs. nuture debate. Sometimes, teens feel like they need to rebel, and so it's a choice. But other times, it's something that they really feel that they have no choice in. There are several people I can think of off the top of my head in my life that didn't have a choice in the matter. Their families disown them, they get fired from their jobs, their neighborhood shuns them. Why would someone
choose that? How can that be a choice? Telling a gay person not to be is like telling a devout Jewish person to just stop being Jewish. If it were that easy, Hitler's actions wouldn't have killed so many people.
If homosexuality is always a choice (as a rule), then so is religion, and most things you take for granted in your life. Your job, where you live, what you teach your children, how you treat your children, these are all obvious choices.
But your sexuality? Definitely a two-backed beast of a different color.
