PATS all the way

The Giants and their fans are disillusioned due to recent success and their hot streak during the playoffs. Look, two weeks of preparation for the Patriots is just giving them too much time to get ready for this game. They are the most disciplined football TEAM in the league and when they're given this much time with the master plan that Bill Belichick is cooking up for them only equals one thing: GAME OVER! Yes, the Giants are playing well and they did play the Patriots well in Week 17 but the Pats were caught by surprise in that game, not this time. Stat: Belichick has won his last 10 games after bye weeks during the regular and postseason season. The Pats will have a gameplan and will go execute it to perfection. It won't be a blowout or anythin but it won't be as close as people think. The two touchdown underdogs is a little ridiculous for the Giants a loss by 10 points seems more likely. All the doubters against the Pats this season have been silenced and i figure not to bet against them, i think i've learned my lesson by now. We should witness history bein made as the first 19 - 0 team ever. The Giants have very versatile superstars all over the field and should make an impact such as Plaxico, Strahan, Umeniyora (doubt it cuz he's goin up against Matt Light, most underrated lineman for the last 3 years), Pierce, Jacobs, and of course Manning. But the Patriots are the far superior TEAM and that is what matters in the Superbowl. They do have some superstar power of their own but the Pats function as a well-oiled machine and doesn't look like it's going to stop. They did beat my team Jacksonville Jaguars and i have respect for them cuz they did beat my team. Jacksonville is going to be siick next year, i've been a fan since McCardell, Jimmy Smith, Brunell, and Coughlin was coach, but next year is their year. And i believe the Pats have been more battle tested going through the rough schedule in the AFC where there were no cupcake games. As for the Giants there were some cake games in their schedule that basically was a booster of confidence period. Go Pats!! Prediction: 34 - 24

Patriots will buckle down and win

The Pats are the best pro team in sports, when they need to focus and win one game they go out and do so. It has been proven over and over again that this team simply knows how to win. The Giants have not developed the same winning attitude yet as proved by their stupid guarantees such as (we are going to win 23-17). Also the Pats offensive line will neutralize the Giants D-Line the same way the neutralized Shawn Merriman and Shawn Phillips in the Chargers game. Even if Plax has an advantage against Samuel, the Patriots cannot be stopped on offense and can and will win a shootout. The Giants just can't get enough stops especially in perfect weather and field conditions.

Re: Giants have a chance

Replied to: Giants have a chance
I'm not going to deny that they have a chance, however you two seem to be overstating this chance. If you had to bet a large sum of money on this game you would not go for the Giants, you would go for the Patriots. Who on the Giants can cover Moss and Welker? How is Samuals not going to be able to stop Plax from going off? Is Eli really going to continue his streak of not doing stupid stuff? These are big questions that I think lean towards the Patriots. Onto the concerns about Brady, don't buy into that stuff. A reporter at the Patriot's practice today said that he was moving "pretty well." Even without that the Patriot's don't give up very many sacks, and the Giants d-line is grossly overrated. They got 12 of there 53 sacks against a very very bad o-line in Philly, and they couldn't even get one sack on Favre last week. Osi has been a nonfactor in the playoffs, no sacks, only 6 tackles, none for a loss. Further more he is hugely overrated, he got sacks in only 7 games, less then half of them and when he isn't doing that he brings very little to the talbe. Finally who has the motivation to win, and the mental edge? That's got to go to the Patriots, they have the chance to make history by going undeafted, plus they've already beaten the Giants before, and you can't tell me that that's not going to be on the mind of every Giant's player when they go out onto that field.

New York Football Giants

Patriots have shown their weaknesses, and the Giants can definitely capitalize on them.

The rushing duo of Jacobs/Bradshaw might confuse the Pats' D, since both can run and catch the ball.

Plax has to have a big game against the smaller, weaker corners of the patriots, but watch out for Asante Samuels.

Don't believe that Tom Brady is 100%, like the post below says. That will be on his mind, and his team's mind. Oh yeah, and the ferocious front 7 for NY with Osi Umenyiora (16 total sacks; including 6 against philly).

Hey, the Giants beat Favre in the frozen tundra. Anything is possible. GIANTS.

Giants have a chance

Replied to: Patriots are not going...
I've got the Giants winning it, and as crazy as I sound hear my out. First, the Pats haven't been playing that well lately, they barley beat a Chargers team that has two of their best players injured. Second, Randy Moss has been in a funk, he played terrible. Third, Tom Brady is hurt, there is a reason he's going around in a walking boot, he won't have the same mobility.

All of those, coupled with all the momentum (and magically a lack of mistakes on Eli's part) have me believing that the Giants can pull it off.

Patriots are not going to let it slip away

As much has I wish the Pats would lose this game I just don't feel they will. This is a team that has managed to win 18 in a row, all the while playing against some fairly tough teams. I see some hope in the fact that they have had trouble in the past, notably against this Giants team in week 17, but I don't think Moss is going to be shut down again, and that Brady is going to throw 3 int again. It would take that plus some pretty good play by the Giants offense to get them the win, and I just don't believe they have it in them. At least it should be a good game, I'm not sure that NE blows the giants away.
