Oh C'mon now!!

Hands down it HAS to be Star Wars.... the ALL TIME classic.
Now barring from the superiorly.. totally kicking special effects of The Matrix.. and others.
Star Wars was before its time. I mean it relied on the genuis of story telling... AND THEN ...
he told the story again except backwards!!!
I mean these other choices would not have been the success stories they have become had they not had the special effects..... now ask yourself that same question about the Star Wars trilogy???
HMMMM.....

Wild wild west.

You have to love Marty McFly as Marty McFly, Biff, Griff, and all the others, and Marty Mcfly as Clint Eastwood.

I will give superlatives to each.

Best Movies by George Lucas not named Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Star Wars

No way

You can't compare fantasy and sci-fi, the genres are far to different.

Lord of the Rings

I was just re-watching the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and I realized that it really did set the bar for a fantasy epic. Nothing thus far as reached its level of grandeur--Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia only appear to indulge the child in us. Lord of the Rings is the fantasy series for adults. Themes of retaining honor, resisting temptation, and courage against opposition still are applicable to this day.

Tell me this is not epic and I'll tell you that you're a fool.
