I think McCain, while favored by the media, will lose.

Mitt Romney should be considered the front-runner. He's way up in delegates, and it looks like he'll win Florida.

McCain

I believe that he is the right person to win from the gang. He would be our oldest president if he wins.

Being way up in delegates at this point is rather insignificant considering the lead is something like ~60 to ~30 and they need well over 1000 to win. It is way too early to factor delegates into anything, in fact most presidential primaries are decided well before the delegates are handed out.

Also, I'd like to know what source you have that says it looks like Romney will win in Florida. Every poll I have seen has McCain with a very small lead over Romney. Either could win, but by no means does it "look" like Romney will win. Also, the national polls show McCain has the lead around the country. There is a reason why McCain is the media favorite...he is leading right now.

If the Republicans want to win this election they better make McCain the nominee. I've seen polls that show Obama and Hillary trouncing (10 point or more victory) every Republican candidate besides McCain, both of which they are statistically tied with.

I think if McCain loses Florida, he's toast. And that'll be all for the better, as the results would just be zinging the mainstream media putting McCain on the stage and showing him off as the best qualified Republican nominee.

Whether McCain is an experienced candidate is irrelevant in this case for me.

This video pushes me over the edge and plants McCain as the most unlikely candidate in my opinion:

First of all, whether you like him or not doesn't make him the most unlikely candidate. The question of this thread is "Who will win the Republican primary?", not whether or not you like the candidate.

Secondly, all McCain is saying is that we aren't going to simply abandon Iraq after the mess we caused. He cites Japan as an example of somewhere we still have a military presence. Is that really bothering you? Do you want to "get the troops out of Japan?" The reason why we will have people in Iraq for possibly a century to come is because the Middle East is the most volatile and important region in the world right now. It also happens to be the breeding ground for most of the world's terrorism at this point in time. McCain is simply saying that if the region is stabalized and we are not losing any more American lives by being in Iraq then we should be there in order to protect our national security interests.
