Obama In 2008

Obama needs to be our president. He's currently working to solve for the genocide in Darfur, which most other candidates have ignored due to political interests. He's working to end the Iraq War (and has always maintained there were no WMD in Iraq and that it was a mistake to go). Unlike the gas guzzling SUV generation presidents who continue to ignore standards such as the Kyoto Protocol, Obama said he was work for a much healthier environment. His stance on issues is uncorrupted...

ASU Beats UofA

There's no question here, whether in the realm of athletics (a BCS caliber football team with a rising basketball team), the realm of academics (one of the highest national merit scholar counts in the country), or the realm of fun (voted the top party school), Arizona State University destroys its counterpart. http://youtube.com/watch?v=bWZZDW2cZr4

Kashmir Belongs to Pakistan

If anyone should be allowed to integrate Kashmir, it should be Pakistan. Not only is Kashmir mainly a Muslim state, but there is no reason for India to even have Kashmir. Kashmir first unwillingly merged with India merged with India in exchange for military support and the promise of a referendum on independence. However this was NEVER held by India. The only reason India says they need Kashmir is to quell terrorism. However, most of the terrorism only occurs because the people in general...

Eid should be a national holiday

In a country where it is said there is no national religion, and there are over 3 million Muslims, there's no reason Eid should not be a national holiday. The government already sets aside the Christian holiday of Christmas aside as a day where all public sectors close, there is no reason other religions should not be accommodated. It is not fair for Muslims to have to take sick days from school or work in order to celebrate their faith.

Can't memorize the LSAT

Out of all the tests the LSAT is the hardest, not because of the content, because I will concede that the MCAT is the hardest content wise, but due to the logical nature of the test. One can study constantly for the LSAT, however it is impossible to memorize what's on the test. With everything else, such as the OAT, the PCAT, or the MCAT, the test taker can sit there and memorize everything that can potentially be on the test. Therefore, due to the fact that it is impossible to actually...

Sweeter is better

I've gotta go with Pepsi, not only does it taste better, but the extra sugar gives me a lot more energy. I only go with coke for the originality of it, or when I want some Vanilla Coke (which I don't even think they make any more).

Re: Re: Re: Apple takes this one.

Yeah it annoys me that Microsoft has such a monopoly on the gaming market, that's one of the things holding me back from switching out my PC for only a MAC. I wish Apple would make it so OS X was sold as an open OS, rather than limiting it to just Macs, the only place I wish Apple would take a hint from Microsoft.

LeBron's got it all

There is currently no better player in the NBA than LeBron James. He has the court vision, the athleticism to get to the basket at will, and the strength to get any rebound he wants. He single handedly led his mediocre team through the playoffs last year and into the NBA Finals, and is currently close to averaging a triple double. As much as I enjoy watching players such as Steve Nash (who is my favorite player but has a ton of talent surrounding him), Dwayne Wade (who has ridiculous...

Re: Re: If might always made right, we'd all be in trouble

I understand what you mean when you question the hypocrisy of our involvement in institutions such as the United Nations, and how a more interventionist approach to policing the world could solve for such atrocities, however the problem with this is that it is not in our best interests. It is clear that the United States has an ETHICAL obligation to intervene in such instances but do you actually believe that the United States has anything tangible to gain from their intervention? Your...

Males have an obvious advantage

Although females have a lot of advantages, it's easy to see why males win out. They not only have the physical characteristics to survive on their own, most of the skills females excel in are those which are taught through practice. First, males are more dominant physically, they possess the tools and athleticism needed to survive in the 'wild' which females usually do not possess. This is clear by watching any sort of womens sports. The most dominant physical females...

Too high a risk

Although it is widely believed that Marijuana should be legalized due to its widespread use, I believe that it should remain illegal. Marijuana in itself is an addicting narcotic, which affects both the physical and mental state of the user. Although it is argued that it's effects are on the same level as alcohol, the problem with Marijuana is that it actually seeps itself into ones system as it is used, causing long term damage and mental instability...

Re: Re: Re: Marijuana is way safer than alcohol

"The war on drugs has huge costs to society--much greater costs than the damage that marijuana has done." What's your reasoning for this? Who's to say the decriminalization of Marijuana won't result in more DUI's (increased jail and court time) or more accidents due to more people being under the influence because it's legal? There is no warrant in your argument as to why the costs would be less on society, I can only imagine how it would be much greater.

Re: Bit of both

The custom overlays and such are what kill MySpace for me, it destroys any navigational sense and makes it impossible to know what's going on. On top of that I never know who my friends are and who's not on myspace because it makes it so hard to search through them and actually find them. For them Facebook is not only easier to use, but a lot friendlier because I can actually find my friends.

Terrible Idea

I think it's hilarious, and artistic, but I don't believe the evening news is the best place to debut it. In this day and age where the nuclear threat is no longer one of harsh words, but one where unstable rouge countries now possess the ability to destroy entire populations with the push of a button, scaring the masses on such a scale is stupid. They should have debuted it somewhere, anywhere else, but not somewhere where the viewers are looking for the "truth".

Giants have a chance

I've got the Giants winning it, and as crazy as I sound hear my out. First, the Pats haven't been playing that well lately, they barley beat a Chargers team that has two of their best players injured. Second, Randy Moss has been in a funk, he played terrible. Third, Tom Brady is hurt, there is a reason he's going around in a walking boot, he won't have the same mobility. All of those, coupled with all the momentum (and magically a lack of mistakes on Eli's part)...
