the world without us
i'm surprised that no one has mentioned alan weisman's book "the world without us" yet. for those who are unfamiliar, the author explores what the world would be like if humans were to just disappear from the planet. he discusses how (hypothetically) the rest of the world (everything from plants to animals to technology remnants) would live without humans anymore. now i wish i could tell you what he said about the impact of humans on the earth... but i only got to read...

in this age of communication at our fingertips, two websites have prevailed as the most popular of social networking sites: myspace and facebook. myspace is advertised as "a place for friends" while facebook was originally intended for college students. lately, the two websites have been taking ideas from each other to "improve" their websites for the masses. personally, i would have had to go with facebook if it were not for one glaring recent flaw in fb, and that...

M&Ms have a lot going for them. they are the nation's top-selling candy... and the only candy offered on air force one. and some colors have their own mythical stories: the green ones are widely considered aphrodisiacs, and the orange ones are thought to augment breast size. (and i'm not even making this up, i'm reading this straight out of a book) plus, there are actually 21 different colors of M&Ms available: black, blue, light blue, dark blue, brown, cream,...

as far as which is better, i think i'd agree about calling. besides that "personal touch", just being able to hear the inflection of someone's voice does a lot. i mean, over a text, you can't necessarily tell if someone is being sarcastic or serious, and plus sometimes people shorten and abbreviate things to the point where you may not be able to understand them. (i hate that.) if we're talking about solely cell phones though, i'd have to say texting. i...

"...orange, yellow, grape, what ever red is.. cherry i think..." i'd like to ask everyone if you'd really want that uncertainty when choosing a candy. do you really want that mysterious synthetic flavor? i know i don't. maybe that's just me, but i think i'd prefer the simple, delightful taste of chocolate. additionally, you can become an M&M (http://www.becomeanmm.com/) and even customize your own M&Ms (http://www.mymms.com/) but can...

most generally if you were to ask me my opinion on cameras, i'd have to lean towards canon, simply because i own three canons: a DSLR (rebel xt), a point-and-shoot (powershot a530), and even film (ae-1). however... yesterday, someone needed me to photograph something rather on the spot, and they lent me a nikon d40. i only had like two minutes to aquaint myself with the camera, so i didn't really get to study all the settings, but even for that i found it pretty user-friendly. the...
