Bond. Dashing Bond.
Powers brings the laughs, but Bond serves the appeal. Think about it ladies, who would you rather spend the day with? :)

I agree with your argument against killing animals unnecessarily, but I do not think grade school dissections fit in that category. My interest in optometry was sparked by a cow's eye dissection in fifth grade, and this interest would have been undoubtedly delayed (or perhaps nonexistant) otherwise. Yes, a lot of children are not interested in the dissections (or in any of their schoolwork for that matter), but for the ones who are, let's let them learn and see where the influence...

Can anyone actually taste the difference between the two? I participated in the Coke/Pepsi challenge a few years back and could hardly tell that I was drinking different sodas. I ended up choosing Coke (kind of arbitrarily), but I still always ask for Pepsi when I'm out. It just has a nicer name.

If marriage is just a legal formality, then screw it. There is no point. Marriage is more than that. It's a life-long commitment. It calls both parties to restrain self-centeredness and self-indulgence. Inside the frames of a marriage, you are called to make your spouse's needs your needs, and to reject any temptations to infidelity or actions that may hurt your husband/wife. Marriage shapes us into people with values that tell us to think beyond ourselves. It is one of the...

I agree. Perhaps the reason a made bed is looked upon favorably is because it is evidence of a disciplined owner. Making your bed may seem unnecessary when you look at it from a practical standpoint, but maybe our mothers nag(ged) us because that small bit of discipline gained from this easy act may translate into something greater at school or in the work force. And can't you just hear the serious man voice in your head? "Studies show that 87% of teenagers who make their beds...

"Evolution is a theory of how life progresses, not how it started. Evolution and genetics could very well be mechanisms set in place by God" Amen.

I found that article about the case you are refering to: Attempt at stealth abortion alleged A Wisconsin man is charged with lacing a woman's drink with a drug for terminations. By Dinesh Ramde Associated Press APPLETON, Wis. - Darshana Patel told authorities she became suspicious as she watched her boyfriend stir a smoothie at an ice cream store. When he offered it to her, she noticed powder on the cup's rim, she said. Patel, who was pregnant, feigned illness and...

I personally define valuable as being linked with the capacity to do good. While “good” may be seen as arbitrary, I believe it involves being morally upright (which can also be left to interpretation) and being capable of benefiting the planet. Disclaimers aside, I think we can all agree that humans are the only beings with the full capacity to act based on moral judgment. If we are given a meal, and our hungry friend is not, we are inclined to share because we have a...

I believe that a force called God created us and the Earth. And I say, if God created this planet and its inhabitants, why can’t it be possible for God to have done the same thing in a different galaxy? No, we do not have proof of the existence of aliens, and hey, maybe we are never intended to find them. Don’t we have pets and keep them separated? We put the lizard in its box and the gerbil in its cage. I just don’t see any reason for there not to be life...

The accessibility of guns to the public is important because of the negative situations that will arise if such accessibility is non-existent. Legal or not, I feel that criminals can always get ahold of a dangerous weapon. Now it is hard to protect against bombs, but if somebody comes at me with anything else, I want to feel comfortable that I have a means of defense. In psychology, we learn about Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The most basic needs are the physiological ones...
